WANTED: Special Interest Group

Reid Corcoran 7/4/2020 9:56 AM

The entire point of DOC$ is to help everyone avoid devastating medical expenses by:

1. Showing comparative prices for the same expense, submitted by ACTUAL Healthcare consumers,

2. Allowing all users to search, resulting in PRICE TRANSPARENCY,

3. Thus providing ADVANCE knowledge of LIST and DISCOUNT (Health Plan negotiated) prices for the first time,

4. Fostering price competition through all of the above.

It makes sense that the primary beneficiaries of this effort will be people most vulnerable to unforeseen medical expenses. In no particular order, they are:  a) the uninsured; b) Medicare recipients with no "Medigap" coverage for high deductibles; c) people with high "out-of-pocket" maximum plans like "catostrophic coverage" only plans; d) small, independent business owners, independent contractors (e.g. many, many thousands of real estate agents), and others who invest in Health Savings (HSA) Accounts.

If you're reading this, you almost surely fit one of those desciptions, you or someone close has felt the anxiety of the Healthcare finance "unknown," and YOU can help us advance this innovative solution.

There are more than a few groups formed to advocate for the interests of some combinations of these affected consumers. Both the American Bankers (ABA) Association and the Healthcare company Optum have "advocacy" organizations to further the interests of HSA account holders.

DOC$ is seeking to partner with such groups to show how our innovative new Healthcare data resource will be an indepensible tool to aid these consumers' efforts to protect their finances from surprise, crippling medical expenses. And remember, as we've shown previously, virtually ALL holders of private Health Insurance coverage now fall under the "c)" description above:  we're saddled with high deductibles now, in addition to high premiums. And they're both increasing all the time.

The optimum scenario would be to demonstrate the potency of the DOC$ price-comparison to consumers in one medium-sized city. In this way, we can have many consumers enter their purchase reports to be compared side-by-side in a concentrated area.

So if you belong to a group you think would benefit from DOC$, or especially if you have a contact who works in the advocacy of any of the above-referenced groups, we would GREATLY value your sharing, referrals, suggestions, and any other endorsement you think can help our mission. Please comment and share. Thanks!
