Telehealth, Telemed, Video Appointments:  By whatever name you call it, virtual housecalls seem to have found their (Covid) time. The trend is exploding. Everywhere. It could also be the case that, shopping for care from the comfort of your home, you may also have a chance to experience Healthcare Price Transparency firsthand.

As we previously blogged, hospitals now have to post their prices on their websites as a result of new legislation passed by Congress in late 2020. But the prices are nearly impossible to find, and there's NO practical means to compare. Then there are thousands of providers, clinics, imaging centers and physical therapists who do not fall under the new law.

But there's hope. New web services are popping up all over. One, Sesame, advertises prices for cash payers as low as "$275 to $450" for an MRI, as well as significant savings on many other medical services. There will be more services such as this, and ours, where consumers like all of us can get information. DOC$ believes sharing of medical price information between each other is the best long term solution to bring openness and price competition to the Healthcare marketplace.
