Exploring A Remote Connection Tool

While the Healthcare industry is navigating the uncertainties—and opportunities—of the explosive growth of Telemedicine, HR professionals across the spectrum of business are dealing with their own surge of Remote Work.

While neither trend is groundbreaking, the expansion to mass constituency populations in an untethered environment sparks many and varied questions about quality, liability, and keeping the virtual patients and workers safe, connected and engaged. There are many resources either newly appearing or ramping up to provide advice, assistance, and contract support services.

Here's a thoughtful enumeration of major HR considerations for companies managing suddenly greater numbers of remote professionals from Connect HR Strategy. Respectfully, we think a useful addition would be to consider the following possibility:  Keeping remote workers connected should include offering tools and resources to help employees in meaningful ways. There are the obvious productivity tools like zoom conferences and remote IT support. Then there are personal resources like professional development incentives, health club memberships, and the like.

DOC$ is designed to be one of those resources, and here's our elevator pitch:

"You've all seen the ads for a recently rising website that offers prescription coupons that might help save you money. DOC$ can help your employees learn to save as much as $1,000.00 or more on deductible expenses like CT-Scans, MRIs or bills from out-of-network providers."

Company-wide participation in our "Price Transparency" forum can quickly give large numbers of plan participants valuable information—through sharing their purchase reports with each other and with the greater public—to find high-value Providers and avoid deductible billing traps like "Surprise Medical Bills."

Just a quick scenario:  Over a relatively short span of time in your metro area, 40-50 people report what they have spent on a typical MRI from among 6-10 competing imaging centers and hospitals. In the Memphis, TN metro area for example, the average is $2,279, and one popular Provider says they can offer a discounted price of $1,039. But, there is a high-quality imaging clinic that will do that MRI for $450.

ALL of your workers, in-office AND remote, should know about these high-value Providers and the potential savings. Remember, "...resources to help...in meaningful ways." DOC$ can work with you to create a company portal with analytics to help your organization AND your client workforce to be more financially healthy at the same time they're caring for their personal health.
