Registering and logging in to the Doc$! web application protects your privacy through the use of a "fictional" UserName. This can be anything you choose in order to protect or obscure your real identity. Please see Doc$! Terms of Use for more information. We DO NOT capture information about your identity or location such as Name, Address, SSN, phone number(s), etc. It does not matter where YOU are, only where the Provider(s) is. Doc$! does not sell or market any information about you. Please see our Privacy Policy for more details.
IF you're ready to join up to use Doc$!, then go ahead and click here to Register. Or read on the following sections for more help.
When you navigate to the "Add A Record" page, Doc$! will guide you through the process of adding your HealthCare purchase/billing record. This includes the billed procedure, the Provider (Office, Practice, Clinic, Lab, Surgery Center, etc.) who performed the procedure and generated the bill to you and/or your Health Insurance Comapny. The form will also ask the date, the billed charge (highest amount originally billed) and the "Approved/Allowed Charge" (this is what the insurance plan allows after any contractual reductions, plan agreed-to rates, or other discounts). If the billing "Code" for the procedure does not appear on your bill or your insurance company's E.O.B. statement (Explanation Of Benefits) you can search for codes using the procedure name/description or a keyword like "MRI" or "CTScan".
After you have added at least one record, this page will display a grid list of the records you have created. As your list builds, you can search using the Search box at the top of the grid. You will also find buttons at the top for adding additional records, as well as both "Edit" and "Delete" buttons for each record. ONLY YOU can edit or delete your own records, and ONLY YOU can create a record for your UserName.
This is the true benefit of Doc$! All users can search competitive price records by
1) Procedure Name, 2) Billing Code, 3) Provider, 4) City, and other criteria. You do this using the Zip Code where you want to search. This will create a list of
records in the metro area. The list might be large, so use the Search box above the list to focus on codes, Procedure names, Providers, etc. For each displayed record,
you will see a "Details" button that will display a detail box on the screen with more information.
On the Search page, all users' records will appear for the searched area, but users will not be able to "Edit" or "Delete" other users' records.
The Doc$! Blog page will feature interesting and informative posts dealing with the economics of HealthCare. We will focus on competitive issues, Health Insurance trends, government regulatory conditions, and other matters affecting your HealthCare budget and your exposure to unplanned medical costs.
